TweetDeck will only be available to verified users
The social network announced that the TweetDeck tool will be for a specific segment of users within 30 days
TweetDeck, the Twitter management platform, announced major changes to its business model. From now on, it has been decided that ordinary users will no longer be able to access the service for free, and will be given a period of one month to continue using it without incurring additional payments.
Twitter reported that, within 30 days, TweetDeck will be available exclusively for verified accounts. To get verified for a Twitter account, payment of a monthly or yearly subscription will be required, in exchange for receiving the coveted blue “check” and other exclusive features. These features include the ability to edit tweets, use bold and italics, as well as upload videos in 1080p quality.
In addition, the company has introduced a new and improved version of TweetDeck, now available for all users to try. This update comes with additional features like a full Tweet Composer, new column types, advanced search, polls, and more.
The company guarantees users that all their saved searches, lists, and columns will be automatically transferred to the new TweetDeck. When loading the app for the first time, users will be prompted to import their existing columns.
However, it is important to note that the Teams functionality in TweetDeck will be temporarily unavailable, although the company has announced that it will be restored in the coming weeks.
