The Last of Us Part II stands as the Game of the Year

At the Game Awards, the highly acclaimed and highly anticipated 2020 game was victorious, in addition to six other accolades

The Last of Us: Part II, the second installment of the video game saga developed by Naughty Dog, has been the great winner of the 2020 edition of The Game Awards, in which it rose as the best video game of the year, with seven awards in total.

The 2020 Game Awards, founded by businessman Geoff Keighley in 2014, were delivered early this Friday in Los Angeles, United States.

Following Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice, recognized as the best video game of 2019, The Last of Us: Part II becomes the new Game of the Year.

The video game from the Naughty Dog studio was the main winner of this edition of The Game Awards, with a total of seven awards, including the awards for best direction, narrative, sound design, performer, accessibility and best action and adventure game.

The Game Awards 2020 also recognized other great releases such as Ghost of Tsushima, as the best art direction, and Final Fantasy VII Remake, as the best soundtrack.

Likewise, the award for the game with the most impact of the year went to Tell Me Why, while No Man’s Sky was recognized as the best game still in development, Hades as the best independent game, and Phasmophobia as the best indie debut.
