The EU will seek to regulate technology companies

The European Union is preparing a list of companies that will be under severe regulations to "curb their power"

Regulators in the European Union (EU) are drawing up a list of up to 20 big tech companies that will be subject to new, much stricter rules that aim to restrict their power in the market.

Large companies on the list will have to comply with stricter standards than smaller competitors, according to groups related to this issue.

Among other things, the new rules will force companies to share data with rivals, as well as be more transparent about how they collect information.

The companies that make up this list will be chosen based on a number of criteria, such as market share in revenue and number of users, as well as those that are considered so powerful that rivals cannot trade without using their platforms.

In this sense, companies like Facebook and Google could be among the 20 technology companies on the list.
