Taipei Fubon Bank will launch a blockchain payment system
It will be the first bank in Taiwan to use the system for faster and safer transactions
The Taipei Fubon Commercial Bank advances to the last stage before the launching of a faster and more secure payment platform based on blockchain technology. The private bank would become the first in Taiwan to apply this system after signing a contract in 2017 with the National University of Chengchi.
The search for greater efficiency, security and transparency in transactions has led Taipei Bank to adopt a payment model that will be applied in conjunction with the ETH network, which implements the Istanbul BFT standard.
Through this initiative, the Taiwanese bank seeks to expand its commercial activity that has quadrupled upon the news in the vicinity of shops, restaurants and other businesses in the area. They seek to transform the city into a smart environment.
