Softbank offers cryptocurrency debit card to its affiliates

The Tokyo-based bank reported that debit cards can also be used as mobile wallets

As reported by the media Cryptopotato and Ledger Insights, the important Japanese Softbank will begin to provide new cryptocurrency debit cards for the benefit of its customers, equipped with Internet of Things (loT) chips, which can also be used as wallets of cryptoactives.

In the announcement, the bank informed that through the new card it is sought to implement cryptocurrencies in traditional products of the market, as well as its stimulation in the consumption of any regular debit card useful for traditional transactions with fiat money through a blockchain wallet.

Due to the chips contained in the structure of the loT-based card, a battery and a small screen on the top, “it can be used to monitor the funds on the card in real time, and customers can operate both regular fiat money as cryptocurrencies,” the bank reported to the media.

SoftBank also announced that thanks to its links with other technologies, it seems to be implementing other aspects in this area too.

Before announcing the launching of this card, Japanese banks had already made some announcements related to technology. In mid-October, it revealed that in February of this year they stressed that they were evaluating blockchain authentication processes.
