Sony is developing portable heating and air conditioning device

Through a crowfunding to work on a device capable of mixing inside the clothes and keeping the body temperature in an ideal state

Sony got the budget through ‘crowdfunding’ to develop and launch a new portable device that works as an air conditioner and heater that people can wear in a shirt enabled for it, which is expected to be launched in March 2020.

According to Sony’s First-Flight page, where a collective financing campaign was launched on July 22 to raise the money needed to carry out the project. The company has already achieved, at the time this news was published, 69,168,000 yen, a figure that has exceeded the requested, which was 66,000,000 yen and therefore allows you to finance your new portable device that , according to the web, it could arrive in March 2020.

The so-called ‘Reon Pocket’ is a device developed with the aim of helping to regulate body temperature against winter and summer outside temperatures, as explained on the web. Temperature control can be established between 0 and 45 degrees Celsius.

The device is introduced in a special shirt that they sell with it, which has a pocket on the back, and the temperature can be modified conveniently with an application from mobile phone. It is compatible with iOS 13 and Android 8 operating systems.

To start using it, the user will have to connect the ‘Reon Pocket’ terminal to the inside pocket of the shirt, which will be connected via Bluetooth to the smartphone. Once this happens, the person can control their temperature from an application on their mobile device exclusively for it.

The device can be used as both air conditioning in summer and heating in winter. In addition, once the shirt on which the device is included has been put on, the user can put on the clothes they want.

There are two models, one basic and one standard, which can be used in both basic and automatic mode and, in addition, allows you to control the volume of the air and has a customizable mode.

The design of this device is discreet; “The terminal is not noticeable” due to its compact size of 85 grams and the design of the shirt, which allows to easily adjust it, without noticing it.

At the moment, this device is still in the development phase and seeking financing until the end of the campaign. However, it is expected to be available in March 2020 in Japan, with prices ranging between 12,760 yen, that is, 105 euros, the cheapest, and 16,060 yen, about 132 euros, the most expensive.
