Rolex registers to enter the metaverse

The luxury watch brand joined the list of the United States Patent and Trademark Office (Uspto) to operate in the metaverse

The Rolex watch brand announced that it registered with the United States Patent and Trademark Office (Uspto) to be able to carry out different types of operations within the metaverse.

With this, it is almost confirmed that the brand of Swiss origin decided to take a step towards technology and incorporate everything related to non-fungible tokens (NFT).

Within said registry, some tasks that the brand seeks to carry out stand, such as the creation of “downloadable game software; virtual reality software; augmented reality software; operating systems for virtual private networks; downloadable computer software for blockchain technology; downloadable software containing virtual items, digital collectibles, and non-fungible tokens (NFT), among others.”

On the other hand, Rolex will protect its brand to be able to operate in online auction services for virtual reality, in this specific case with the use of watches, art objects, digital collectibles, NFT, among others.

“Use blockchain technology to provide user verification services; electronic data storage; development and hosting of internet platforms for electronic commerce; development and hosting of virtual environments and online metaverse platforms”, among other functions highlights the registration document.
