Protection measures against cyber attacks

The recommendations point to privacy policies, data protection and anti-cookie tools

The recent attacks on the platforms of Mexican banks put cyber security experts on alert. The hacking of data and assets is one of the most common crimes since the advent of the technological revolution.

Those involved in these crimes have extensive knowledge of the functioning of the Internet, the protocols that corporations put into practice as firewalls to prevent their access to the data they handle and remain updated. This makes the protection measures more ingenious every time.

Experts recommend the implementation of strict privacy policies, such as the one that has just entered into force in Europe. Through these policies, users are consulted and once they accept the approaches on the use of their data, they become effective.

On the other hand, they also highlight the importance of using access codes in mobile devices, avoid connecting them to unknown networks, disable applications that are not in use and keep operating systems updated.

A weak point that should be reinforced is the culture of security. Companies are currently seeking to promote cybersecurity through workshops, courses and the like so that all staff are aware of the threatening elements, risks of specific actions when connected to the Internet and the need to communicate any situation they consider abnormal.
