PlayStation announces the end of PS Communities

The company indicated that they will no longer support this functionality, and that as of April access to it will no longer be possible

PlayStation announced that the community function PS Communities will no longer receive support, and as of April, users of its PS4 console will not be able to access it.

Added in 2015, the PlayStation Communities feature allowed users to create groups of players based on their interests, allowing users to exchange messages and access a board of posts organized by video games.

Now, the Sony division has indicated on its support website that “as of April 2021, this function will no longer be supported or available on your PS4 console.”

Instead, the company referred to other alternatives that allow players to stay connected and exchange messages, such as through the PS4 console’s message function and the PlayStation app.

PlayStation had previously announced the closure of the Communities mobile applications for devices with iOS and Android systems, which became inaccessible in March of last year.
