New AirPods Pro arrive with spatial audio and touch controls

Apple introduced this week the second generation of AirPods Pro headphones that introduce spatial audio for a more immersive experience and touch controls

Apple has presented this Wednesday its new products from the iPhone and Apple Watch families, and together with them, a new generation of its AirPods Pro wireless headphones that are, according to the company, “the most advanced to date”.

The H2 chip inside has been designed to enhance the overall sound experience. According to Apple, it cancels up to twice as much noise as the first generation AirPods Pro, and to improve isolation, a new extra-small ear cushion is included.

The new headphones have a low-distortion audio transducer and a custom amplifier, to deliver deeper bass and clear sound across a wider frequency range. They also incorporate spatial audio for greater immersion.

The company has incorporated touch controls, so that to play multimedia sound or adjust the volume, you just have to touch or slide your finger up or down on the touch control located on the cylindrical part of the AirPods Pro.

The new AirPods Pro also improve autonomy. Specifically, they offer up to six hours of listening with active noise cancellation, and up to 30 in total with the charging case. They are compatible with the Apple Watch charger, as well as the MagSafe charger, a Qi-compatible charging base or the Lightning cable.

The charging case has been revamped with a sweat- and water-resistant design, and a Korean latch. It can be located with the Precision Search application in case of loss, and it incorporates a speaker to play higher tones, which help to locate it.

The second generation AirPods Pro can be purchased for 299 euros from September 23.
