Libereum buys Spanish football club Elche CF

The Dutch crypto-sign Libereum acquired the Spanish soccer club Elche CF for 4.9 million dollars

The purchase sets the tone in the ambitions of the company to acquire various international football clubs and make their tokens ERC20 Liber a compulsory form of payment in the stadiums of the clubs they own.

According to a report by Finance Magnates, Libereum also had the intention to buy the Dutch club Roda JC Kerkrade but the agreement did not materialize.

Elche CF was relegated from the first division of Spain in 2015 due to outstanding tax debts and economic mismanagement. For its part, Libereum describes that the company aims to return the club to the first division by strengthening its financial resources through its economy of tokens.

The company affirms that the demand of the token will boost its market value, generating benefits for the club.

Many players are currently seeking to integrate cryptocurrencies with conventional football and making tokenization a means to encourage and monetize the commitment of fans or to provide additional income for clubs and their administration.
