Justin Bieber is criticized for promoting NFT

The Canadian singer is on the list of celebrities who have been questioned for speaking openly and positively about NFT

Singer Justin Bieber is on Truth in Advertising’s (TINA.org) list of celebrities who have been criticized for allegedly promoting non-fungible tokens (NFT).

In addition to Bieber, there are other celebrities such as athletes Floyd Mayweather and Tom Brady, music icons Eminem and Snoop Dog and several actresses, including Gwyneth Paltrow.

The organization indicated that it sent letters to the celebrities days ago, where they exposed their complaints and warnings about the potentially harmful effects that the tokens can have on the public.

TINA.org wrote that the celebrities mentioned above may be violating the Federal Trade Commission’s (FTC) rules regarding the use of endorsements and testimonials in advertising and the requirements for influencers.

The advocacy group links to the FTC website, which states that influencers must disclose any material connections to the brands they endorse, and make disclosures clear, unequivocal, and conspicuous, and within the endorsement.
