Internet will change cryptographic keys for DNS protection

The announcement has created panic among users, although specialists from the Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers have indicated that there will be no problems for those who have the corresponding resolution installed

Representatives of the Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers (Icann), the entity in charge of assigning domain names (DNS), announced the change of cryptographic protection keys.

Although the actual date of the procedure is not known, users are talking about October 11th. Some opinions expressed panic from customers. However, from the Icann have indicated that there is no cause for concern.

On a possible collapse of the Internet, Icann spokesmen said: “According to the analysis of the relevant data, more than 99% of the users whose resolvers are validated will not be affected by the transfer of the KSK. Users who use at least one resolver ready for handover will not notice any change when using the DNS, or Internet in general, once the handover has occurred.”

The change made by the corporation seeks to strengthen security in navigation, guaranteeing users around the world a robust system.

Certainly, any change generates fear in the users. However, the Icann guarantees a stable operation, as has happened up to now.
