Flixxo seeks to displace Netflix in streaming

The Argentine platform, which has 100 series, rewards its users with prizes in cryptocurrencies

The Flixxo platform, free and recently launched in the Argentine market, seeks to get Netflix’s throne on streaming platforms.

This project, which rewards its users with rewards in cryptocurrencies, has 100 series and a thousand hours of content.

Flixxo founder and CEO, Adrián Garelik, commented that the content platform works thanks to the “person-to-person” system, which consists of a BitTorrent protocol for transmitting files between users without using central servers.

Flixxo’s proposal is distinguished because it is based on the application of video game elements, while creating an entire economy that revolves around its Flixx cryptocurrency.

“Flixxo has a transactional model based on the Flixx token, which can be obtained in exchange for viewing ads, combining AVOD with TVOD, mixed with rewards for various social interactions”, says Garelik.

The manager adds that users’ commitment, such as buying a certain amount of videos, watching a series or inviting friends to join the application, is rewarded with tokens. The Flixx change hands between consumers and content creators, as both win for each action. Additionally, creators can collect their tokens by selling them to advertisers, thus completing a complete business circle.
