Facebook develops a TV streaming device

The company is working on new features that allow access to new streaming services and make video calls from the TV

According to The Information portal, Facebook is developing Catalina, a streaming service that will have support for Portal and its camera with Artificial Intelligence.

The new device called Catalina will feature a physical remote control and video transmission services similar to other televisions such as Apple TV.

Apparently, the device will be able to connect to users’ TVs through Portal to make video calls. It will come with a remote control and according to speculation it will have support for companies such as Netflix, Disney and Hulu.

The acquisition will also come with AR functions that will allow users to interact with virtual objects while they are making the video call.

The information strengthens the rumors about the new features of Portal, which will not only show a more versatile device but will be able to integrate the camera on top of a TV and watch the video interface on a larger screen.
