This Saturday, 2,000 accounts were opened as part of the Children’s Day operation, allowing new customers to enjoy benefits such as making payments at national points of sale, receiving transfers in bolivars from third parties, making mobile payments, and recharging their Movistar or Digitel phone balance.

Available in various designs, the Kids Bancamiga card is supported by contactless technology and was specifically designed to help children begin to learn about responsible money management.

With the account for minors with ID (between 9 and 17 years old), children and adolescents can also register on the portal and view their balance and account transactions.

“If you didn’t have the opportunity to open an account and receive the free Kids card, take advantage of the opportunity this Saturday. The findings of a study by the Danube University in Krems near Vienna suggest that using a mobile phone for less than two hours a day has benefits for people’s mental health.

The research, which was published in the journal BMC Medicine, is clear about the health benefits of this change in daily mobile phone use. During the study, participants were divided into two groups. While in the first group, participants reduced their mobile phone use to a maximum of two hours a day, the second group continued with their usual routine of an average of four and a half hours a day.

After a period of three weeks, it was observed that those who made up the first group “showed a decrease in depressive symptoms by 27 % and stress by 16 %, while sleep quality increased by 18 % and general well-being improved by 14 %.”

Professor Pieh, in light of the results, recommended reducing the time spent in front of digital device screens by more than two hours and, in addition, achieving a “sustainable change in usage behavior” despite consumer habits in the digital age.

The researcher in charge of the study stressed that the positive effects of using the mobile phone less do not last if it does not become a habit. He added that “after the trial, participants again increased the time they spend in front of screens, so the psychological symptoms worsened.”

The Minister of Economy of Peru, José Arista, declared this Tuesday that the country hopes to sign a double taxation agreement with China by the end of the year.

According to the official of the South American nation, this agreement will also seek to open the Chinese market for Peruvian meat and agricultural products, taking into account that there is already a Free Trade Agreement between both countries.

Arista indicated that both China and Peru are in the final steps of these negotiations that will provide the Andean country with advantages in terms of institutional stability and norms. “There is also Peru’s recognition of China as a market economy. And, thirdly, we will be signing a double taxation agreement with China, whose negotiations should be completed by the end of this year,” Arista added.

The minister is planning a trip to China from June 23 to 30 with the President of the Republic, Dina Boluarte, and the Minister of Agrarian Development and Irrigation, Ángel Manero. The visit “will seek the possibility of exporting Peruvian meat and agricultural products to the Chinese market.”

Migrants without legal status could benefit from a new plan from United States President Joe Biden, which provides for residence and employment permits for those who are married to US citizens, have graduated from local universities or have entered the country as children.

According to the Government’s announcement this Tuesday, the new program “will allow the regularization of more than half a million migrants living in the country without legal status.”

The program will allow immigrants without a residence permit but who are married to Americans, in addition to their children, to obtain said permit “without having to leave the country to apply for it.”

It will be a relief for those foreigners who have been living in the United States for at least 10 years “and are married to a US citizen before June 17, 2024,” the White House said.

Government estimates suggest that nearly 500,000 immigrants, added to some 50,000 stepchildren of US citizens, will be able to benefit from the new plan. However, it is clear that the authorities will review each application and those that are approved will have a period of three years to request permanent residence.

During that time, they will be able to remain in the country “and apply for a work permit of up to three years. Once permanent residence, also known as a green card, has been obtained, the beneficiary can apply for citizenship.”

Biden’s new plan also seeks to make it easier to “obtain work visas for graduates of American higher education centers, as long as they have received a highly qualified job offer.”
