Bimbo’s profit in 2022 reached more than $2,000 million

The company reported for 2022 an income that triples what was achieved in 2021, which was barely 800 million dollars

Grupo Bimbo registered a net profit of approximately 2,500 million dollars in 2022, almost tripling the result obtained in the previous year, when it reached a figure of more than 800 million dollars, that is, 195 % more.

According to the accounts report of the Mexican bakery, this better result is due to record billing levels, with 20.7 billion dollars, mainly attributable to a favorable price mix and the “strong performance” of volumes in all the regions.

By markets, the turnover registered double-digit increases in almost all its markets. Thus, sales grew 17.3 % in North America, 19.5 % in Mexico, 23.3 % in Latin America and 9.8% in the Europe, Middle East and Africa area.

For the group’s CEO, Daniel Servitje, 2022 was an “exceptional” year with “historic” financial performance. We increased our market share in most categories, made historic capital investments, adjusted our strategic focus on grain-based foods, successfully transformed our presence in Argentina and Brazil, and launched our sustainability strategy.

Among the most notable operations of the year, Bimbo acquired Vel Pitar, the main bakery company in Romania, thus expanding its presence to 34 countries.
