Donald Trump creates a task force to investigate crypto crimes

The president of the United States signed an executive order to activate the Operational Force for Market Integrity and Consumer Fraud

The president of the United States signed on Wednesday, July 12, an executive order through which the working group that will investigate the fraud in cryptocurrencies that affect consumers comes into operation.

Under the name “Task Force on Market Integrity and Consumer Fraud”, the work team will be responsible for designing and proposing plans of orientation, investigation and prosecution for those involved in crimes with digital currency.

Although the details of the work dynamics of the group are not yet known, it is expected that through exhaustive investigations, it may issue a report to the Trump Administration in a prudential period of time.

Since the beginning of 2018, the US government has been working on cybersecurity plans, mainly focused on cryptocurrency fraud. There are many cases that have been presented in the first two quarters of this year and that keep the authorities alert not only in the United States but in the whole world.

Most transactions involve Bitcoin and it is with this digital currency that cybercrimes are committed. Trump’s task group will remain behind the trail of those involved to apply the law to them.
