Deyna Castellanos: “I am excited to be a role model and inspire others”

When Deyna Castellanos started at the age of five in her hometown, Maracay, there was no female image in Venezuelan soccer that aroused that passion to emulate her achievements and try to be like her. Today the reality is different, and it is precisely the soccer player who is the reference for children, young people and for an entire country.

Who is the image of the financial institution shared with the president of the Board of Directors of Bancamiga Banco Universal, Carmelo De Grazia, and with the executive president of Bancamiga, Ariel José Martínez. She had the opportunity to participate in a photo shoot, record several advertising spots and meet with a group of collaborators, according to a corporate statement.

“It is very nice and gratifying that there is a generation like that of Paulina Souza, the girl who plays me in the commercial Together we make a Bancamiga team and who by the way is a “crack” with the ball, who can see in me and in others colleagues from Vinotinto to an example, to someone they would like to be. “That is very nice,” she expressed.

Castellanos did a photo session with Yrene, her mother, describing that moment as “wonderful” and “cool” because it was the possibility of adding it to “these extra-sports things that I do that are part of me, of my career, and that I like a lot to do, as an image of Bancamiga, where they always make me feel so good.”

For Yrene, the possibility of accompanying her in this brand commitment was also “lovely” and “unique,” ​​something she has been doing since she took Deyna to the soccer fields in the state of Aragua, not only to be with her but to motivate her, guide her and “discipline” her, if necessary.

Yrene, an all-terrain mom

The special relationship between Deyna and Yrene was evident. On more than one occasion the brave captain was seen bringing a napkin to her mother or cleaning her mouth after a snack.

“My mom and I are also very close friends. We have a very healthy and honest relationship. And that’s the coolest thing about our relationship. We can tell each other anything and I know that from the depths of his heart he will seek the best for me. I feel that is fundamental.”

She confessed that his mother was the first person who had that vision that “no one in the family, nor me, had. My mom knew from the first minute that I was special. If I had not had Yrene as a mother, I would not have gotten to where I am, nor would I be clear about where I can go in the future.”

Castellanos maintained that “the support was from the first day and continued later when she saw me train, play, score goals. It was obvious when he noticed that I liked him. I also remember that when I was older, they wouldn’t let me go to my friends when I was 15 years old, because I had left the next day.”

“And it is that discipline and perseverance that is needed to grow,” said Deyna while her mother added the following: “she was always an obedient girl, who understood what path she should follow. I told her that if she liked football or any other activity, she should take it seriously.”

Yrene confessed that they were difficult times, when she had to practically do magic so that Deyna and her older brother Álvaro were punctually at soccer practices that took place in very distant places, in addition to fulfilling their obligations at home.

“I told them that football was on the same level as academics. You had to train and also study. That was basic. She told them that in life they had to be respectful, take care of their image and behave well. Today I feel very grateful to life for having achieved it.”

Deyna Castellanos thanked the experience with Bancamiga and invited the institution’s collaborators, not only the 17 who had the opportunity to take group photos before she ran to a press conference, to continue striving for the growth of the bank and the country.
