According to a study conducted by the cybersecurity company Kaspersky Labs, based in Russia, during the second quarter of 2018 the number of cryptocurrency frauds increased.

The study showed the number of losses, which according to experts reached 2.3 million dollars. The affected investors have established their demands in a timely manner before the authorities of each country.

The study of the Russian company, entitled “Spam and phishing in Q2 2018”, indicates that the most frequent crimes are identity theft, scams and deceptive offers based on ICO offers with advanced payments.

Kaspersky Labs has stressed that through its antiphishing system they managed to prevent 58 thousand users from linking to phishing websites in the second quarter of this year.

The company said that the ethereum is the preferred currency of cybercriminals to commit their crimes. They also warned about the risks that lie behind the crypto offers on Twitter. They are made by robots or by false experts to make naive users fall into their networks.
