China will create blockchain standardization committee in 2019

The Chinese government is working on the drafting of new standards for the application of decentralized technology in the different areas of the country’s life. For this they will create the Blockchain Technology Standardization Committee.

According to Li Ming, director of the Blockchain Research Office, the working group for the creation of the committee has already been formed, with the participation of various government agencies seeking greater security and transparency.

The project includes basic standards for business and applications, processes and methods, as well as other related areas that are key, such as administrative systems, production and distribution, supply, transportation, cargo tracking, telecommunications, among others.

China is one of the first countries to previously define the way forward in relation to block technology, to then promote its adoption and use. The publication of the new concepts is scheduled for the end of 2019.

Yu Kequn, director of the National Information Technology Security Research Center, said: “The development of blockchain technology can become an important step for China to capture the global technological competence.“
