China will attack plagiarism on the Internet with blockchain

The Internet Court of Hangzhou, Chinese city, became the first legal entity in the nation to recognize blockchain technology as a means to keep legal evidence

An Internet Court in the city of Hangzhou, in eastern China, will use blockchain technology to attack and try to minimize the plagiarism of online editors. The court will deal with cases related to the network, save time and reduce administrative costs.

In the same way, the court will electronically accept the presentations and court cases. It was granted the power to rule online on legal actions through live broadcast. The plaintiffs verify their identity with a credential issued by the government or through their Alipay account.

The Internet Court functions as a platform for the governance of the Internet space in China with the purpose of resolving the disputes that arise in the network and as a first step for the transformation of online trials.

The court considers that it is almost impossible to manipulate or operate the tests that are recorded in a distributed ledger or chain of blocks, since its technology is decentralized and open.

The court judge, Wang Jiangqiao, says that blockchain technology is beneficial for writers because of its ability to monitor the authorship, content and timing of the creation, to present them as evidence of the infringement.
