Caracas will be the scene of the “Ruta del Beato” José Gregorio Hernández

This Thursday, October 26, the “Ruta del Beato” tour will take place in Caracas in honor of José Gregorio Hernández. Includes visits to churches and other places where the blessed spent much of his life

A tour in the city of Caracas to honor the doctor of the poor, José Gregorio Hernández, will take place this Thursday, October 26, under the name “Ruta del Beato.”

The Archdiocese of Caracas, through social networks, announced this tour that it has organized and that includes some sites and churches where Hernández spent a large part of his life.

This event commemorates 159 years since the birth of this doctor devoted to the Catholic faith. “The ecclesiastical constituency takes the opportunity to happily invite accompanying the tour through different parts of the city,” according to parish priest Geraldino Barracchini.

It was learned that the “Ruta del Beato” will begin at the La Pastora church at 10:00 a.m. and will end at La Candelaria church at 5:00 p.m. with a procession accompanied by the image of the blessed. Devotees will be able to accompany the tour through the José Gregorio Hernández House Museum, the San José del Ávila Church, the Vargas Hospital, the National Pantheon, the Trinity Church, as well as the Las Mercedes Church.

It is important to remember that “the canonization of José Gregorio Hernández is in the study phase after his beatification, on April 30, 2022. The Vatican recognized the miracle he performed for Yaxury Solórzano Ortega, a young man who was shot in 2017 in head and survived without any sequelae from the operation.”
