Banesco USA buys Brickell Bank

The bank Banesco USA announced the signing of an agreement to acquire Florida's Brickell Bank, which is held by Portuguese Banco Espírito Santo (BES)

After having finalized the transaction, which is subject to approval by the US authorities, the financial entity will bear the name and trademark of Banesco USA. This entity is completely independent from Banesco in other countries.

Jorge Salas, President and CEO of Banesco USA, said: “We are delighted to announce this transaction and believe that Brickell Bank is an exceptionally strategic multi-tiered setting.”

It is worth noting that Banesco USA was founded in 2006 and has four branches in the south of the state and one in Puerto Rico. Banesco USA is an independent entity of the state of Florida with 1,300 million in assets.

For its part, Brickell Bank was founded in 1973 and offers personal and corporate financial services for its local and international clients. It is located in the center of Brickell.

The bank is dedicated to its strategy of providing wealth management services, personal and corporate banking services, residential and commercial real estate loans, commercial financing to individuals, institutions and national and international corporations.
