Wakalandia: NFT project that seeks to take Venezuela to the metaverse

Promoting the best of Venezuela in the metaverse is the goal of the NFT community called Wakalandia

Wakalandia is a Venezuelan NFT community that seeks to promote national identity through a children’s animated series, a DAO production company, and the metaverse.

According to information recently provided to the media, “Wakalandia will be the place where thousands of people, children or adults, born in Venezuela or not, will be able to recognize what rooting means through interaction with icons of a country that is still offers positive things.”

Nacho Palacios, illustrator and creative director of Meollo Criollo, who is also the co-founder of Wakalandia, explained to the media that “the idea arose from the impact generated by the trilogy of books Where is Venezuela?”, which he wrote and illustrated together with Leo Snows.

Palacios stressed that Wakalandia is based on Venezuelan families that have separated, are scattered around the world, but remain united by their roots. From there, the animated story was born.

On the other hand, Carlos Hullet, co-founder of Wakalandia and CEO of VivoPlay, stressed that by buying a Waka the person obtains an immediate membership within the community: “It is a way of belonging to a Venezuelan meeting place and this Waka is my ID. , identifies me and will make me a member of an active community that is going to generate things».

Wakalandia strengthens the roots of Venezuelans

Upon entering the Wakalandia website, an image of macaws, typical Venezuelan birds, and the message that invites you to be part of the first NFT Latino community in this format are displayed.

To understand how the platform works, it is important to point out that each waka is a non-fungible token “randomly generated by combining more than 200 different attributes, including plumage, tails, eyes, beaks, hats, shirts, accessories, objects and colored backgrounds and of the landscapes of Wakaland, thus determining their degree of rarity. To be part of this initiative, those interested must buy one of the 10,000 wakas that will be available.

Among the objectives underlying Wakalandia, the opportunity to have a representative NFT of Venezuelan roots stands out, through a unique avatar. In addition, the creators seek to “establish a community that promotes the creation of content that promotes Venezuelan identity, starting with the Wakalandia animated series.” Another reason is that the metaverse is a meeting point for Venezuelans with the option of attending exclusive events, concerts and parties, among others.
