Gibraltar United joins the world of cryptocurrencies

The football club became the first European to pay its players through electronic currencies

On Monday, Gibraltar United announced that it will join the world of cryptocurrencies in view that from now on they will pay their players through these currencies.

This will be possible thanks to an alliance formed with Quantocoin, that will support the oldest team of Gibraltrar in this project.

This nation has always been open to the world of cryptocurrencies and blockchain technology, so this measure is not a surprise.

The owner of the club, Pablo Dana, has already pointed out that all player contracts will include payment agreements in cryptocurrency for the next season.

“Gibraltar was the first place that regulated betting companies 20 years ago, when everyone saw them as horrible. They established compliance and anti-money laundering regulations and created a platform; they have the intelligence to do the same with cryptocurrencies,” explained Dana.

This is not the first team in the world to take actions of this type. In June, Atlético Paranaense and Corinthians announced their plans to cancel their players’ salaries through cryptocurrencies.
