Hotels in Iran are accepting payments in cryptocurrencies

The measure was adopted to evade the sanctions imposed by the United States on the country's banking system

The main hotel reservation platform in Iran, HotelsInIran.com, authorized payments in cryptocurrencies by customers after the new sanctions imposed on the country by the United States.

Through the incorporation of digital currency into the payment system, the platform seeks to evade the restrictions that threaten its economic stability. Customers can pay using Bitcoin, Ethereum and Bitcoin Cash.

The exclusion of Iran and other countries from the world banking system by measures executed from the United States have led its financial authorities to seek alternatives. The cryptocurrencies have become a profitable ally.

Analysts and experts in the crypto ecosystem point out that Bitcoin could be adopted as a defense mechanism by countries like Iran, Russia and India, to boost their economy.

They also add that in the next few years digital money could replace the FIAT currency in economies vulnerable to restrictions imposed by other nations or regulatory bodies.
