YouTube continues to censor channels associated with cryptocurrencies

Crypto news media has also been hit by censorship

According to an analysis by Luke Fitzpatrick, a researcher on topics related to cryptocurrencies and blockchain, Google’s actions are affecting bitcoin-related YouTube channels.

Fitzpatrick assures that since YouTube belongs to the Google platform, the traffic of youtubers linked to bitcoin has decreased, also includes in his analysis that censorship is not limited to YouTube users but also to the cryptocurrency news media.

Carl Martin Runefelt, YouTuber and founder of The Moon AB, pointed out to a media: “I have never seen this on my channel and now it is happening to all the biggest youtubers in the bitcoin space simultaneously in recent days. After three hours of uploading the video, the views suddenly drop by 90% and you can’t see it in the search results.”

For his part, Christopher Jaszczynski, technical chain analyst, speaker and Youtuber, indicated that between “June and December 2019, the YouTube purge was taking place through strikes, which prevented us from uploading our bitcoin technical analysis videos. However, the shadow ban is more of a stealth approach.”

The attempt to discreetly hide views of a fact or event related to bitcoin and cryptocurrencies has resulted in the temporary suspension of youtubers accounts. In this scenario, the bitcoiner community has insisted on finding a viable way to avoid the censorship applied by its website.
