Trump will continue to support Boris Johnson

The US president said that the Prime Minister of the United Kingdom has the clear path to victory, despite the parliamentary defeat he lived 24 hours ago

The president of the United States, Donald Trump, has assured that the Prime Minister of the United Kingdom, Boris Johnson, “knows how to win,” shortly after the British Government suffered its second parliamentary defeat in less than 24 hours due to discrepancies around to the process of leaving the European Union.

“He is a friend and he is fighting; there is no doubt about it,” Trump told reporters at the Oval Office, during a meeting focused on the evolution of Hurricane ‘Dorian’. “Boris knows how to win”, added the president, who does not need to worry about his ally, according to the portal The Hill.

Trump, a confessed defender of Brexit, has been giving support to Johnson in recent months, and has predicted he would be “a great prime minister.” Last week, the US president questioned on Twitter the feasibility of a possible censorship against the official.

The Prime Minister has the firm objective of ensuring that the United Kingdom leaves the EU, without Parliament and other entities attempting to block this action.
