Google Assistant incorporates facial recognition function

The tool of the most important search engine in the world started the coupling of the new function for smart screens for its English version

The Google Assistant began to introduce, although for the moment only in its English version, the facial recognition function, a feature integrated in its Nest Hub Max smart screens and which allows a new way of identifying its users.

The Android Police journal showed that in some devices the facial recognition function can already be accessed within the Google Assistant settings, as confirmed by the search engine developers.

The option appears under the name of Face Match (facial recognition), with a subtitle that teaches the Assistant to recognize your face. If the user clicks on this function, a description of the service is displayed, which indicates the possibility of customizing the identification experience with Face Match in the Google Assistant in English and from Nest Hub Max devices.

In spite of this, according to the mentioned means, when trying to configure it an error occurs, because the device tries to search for others compatible with this function in the same network and the result that appears is “no device found.”

Google had already announced in May the new Nest Hub Max, which integrates speaker, screen and Assistant, and in a statement on its blog they reported that it would introduce the facial recognition option within its virtual assistant to “extend the options for personalized help.
