The operation is similar to that of transactions with fiat money. The amount in cryptocurrencies, equivalent to the amount spent is debited immediately to ensure that the correct value is captured and the funds are charged from the customer’s account.

Coinbase, based in San Francisco, United States, indicated that the customers from both countries can do their shopping with their bitcoins, ethereum and litecoins.

Feroz stressed that customers will be free to make consumptions with the Coinbase Card through Contactless, Chip and PIN, in addition to make withdrawals in cash at ATMs.

The card also has an application for Android and iOS platforms. It is important to note that the spending limit is £ 10,000 ($ 13,092) per day. Coinbase Card has no maintenance fee; however, reversing a transaction will cost £ 20 ($ 26.19).
