Meta announced this Monday that the simplified Muse Glimmer version of its Muse Spark 1.2 AI model is now available. Being lighter, it allows for easy download to a personal computer, with the possibility of customizing the technology.
According to the company, Muse Glimmer is designed to offer assistant functions, helping with tasks such as scheduling and file organization, thanks to its 30 billion parameters that only require a graphics card to operate.
The Menlo Park, California-based company is advancing in the competition with China to flood the market with AI models, investing more than two billion dollars. Among Meta’s immediate plans is a “cloud infrastructure business that will commercialize access to computing power and AI models, following the Amazon Web Services model.”
In addition, Mark Zuckerberg’s company intends to create a $1 billion fund to invest in the communities across the United States where Meta owns and operates data centers.
