Instagram will fight the harassment with AI
The director of the social network, Adam Mosseri, stressed that the developers added features that identify the contents that may be the victim of ridicule
The social network Instagram, a Facebook application to share photographs, announced that it will combat harassment in networks through Artificial Intelligence (AI).
The developers of the application added functionalities that will allow to scan the publications to identify those problematic contents.
All this will be possible thanks to a technology with the capacity of automatic learning which will serve to detect any type of content that could be the target of ridicule and harassment, according to the director of Instagram, Adam Mosseri.
“This evolution will help us to identify and remove a much higher number of bullying. It is a fundamental supplemental stage, because many people who are victims of harassment or who attend harassment do not disseminate it,” the director explained.
The use of this tool will be progressive, and in the coming weeks users will begin to notice the presence of a filter against harassment in the networks.
“Harassment on the Internet is complex, and we know we must do more to restrict it and spread goodness on Instagram,” Mosseri said.
