Quebec political party in favor of bitcoin mining
The recently elected Liberal Party of Quebec will open the doors to bitcoin mining operations
After the elections carried out in Quebec last Monday, October 1st, the province that was led by the Liberal Party of Quebec will now be managed by the Coalition Avenir Quebec (CAQ). Among its first announcements there is that it will allow the mining of cryptocurrencies.
After the elections, one area of the economy seems to have been favored and involves cryptoactives. CAQ is more open to the blockchain, and wants to attract companies to support them.
The reason to select Quebec among all provinces for cryptographic mining activities is the combination of cold weather and cheap electricity it offers, which automatically reduces costs.
To date, Marathon Patent Group Inc. has rented approximately 26,700 square feet of space in Quebec to host almost 1,400 Bitmain Antminer S9 miners.
Now that the Avenir Quebec Coalition is in charge, the economy could have a significant and transcendental impact with respect to cryptocurrency.
