United States seeks to define blockchain technology

The US House of Representatives wants to give meaning to this trend in order to get a better profit

The United States House of Representatives (USA) is discussing a project that aims to define the meaning of blockchain technology.

Those responsible for bringing this idea to the discussion were representatives Doris Matsui and Brett Guthrie, both members of the Subcommittee on Energy and Commerce in Communications and Technology and Digital Commerce and Consumer Protection.

In case the law H.R 6913, Blockchain Promotion Act of 2018 is approved, the next step would be to form a working group to study this trend and be able to create the ideal definition for governmental uses.

It is also planned that the group could propose recommendations for the National Telecommunications and Information Administration and the Federal Communications Commission, to look for the usability of the blockchain in the State.

“Blockchain technology could transform the global digital economy. The opportunity to deploy this technology offers us a lot of transparency, efficiency and security in the supply chains. This bipartisan law will unite shareholders to develop a common definition of blockchain, and even, perhaps more importantly, recommend opportunities to promote the innovation of this technology, “said Matsui.
