Colombia’s educational system reinvents itself with technologies

Through the Reinvent the Classroom program the classroom is transformed to adapt to the needs of the current era and includes the use of new technologies from childhood

Colombia was the first country in Latin America to be selected for the Spanish program “Salón del Futuro”, which seeks to transform the traditional space with new technologies. On September 27th, the country inaugurated its first technological room through the Reinvent the Classroom program at the Francisco de Paula Santander school in Bogotá.

The RTC program has been possible thanks to the efforts of various government entities such as the Ministry of Education of the Colombian capital, in partnership with HP, Intel and Microsoft technology companies.

The students of the school in Bogota enjoy classroom with more flexible standards, characterized by the presence of technological equipment that will allow children and adolescents to advance in knowledge, research, development of skills to create projects that adapt to the needs of regional and national development.

The new classroom, which is a proposal for the educational system throughout Colombia, is equipped with HP Probook x360 G2 laptops, which integrate Office 365. The machines can be folded and become tablets. They are resistant to falls and splashes.

Students of various levels have shown their excitement at the transformation of the classroom. They will have printers that Intel and HP have provided, including a 3D printer so that students can take their projects to physical. All this is set in a colorful decoration, striking for students and with reasons related to research and technology.
