Official ChatGPT app available for paid Windows users
Paid Windows users can now enjoy the official ChatGPT Plus app in desktop version
Since the end of October, Windows announced the availability of the ChatGPT app in desktop version for its paid ChatGPT Plus, Team, Enterprise and Edu customers.
The desktop version for PC does not have voice mode, which means that Windows users are one step behind those with macOS.
However, one of the advantages of “having a ChatGPT desktop app is its integration with the operating system.” By pressing Alt + Space, users can call the chatbot in a separate window. The same commands are used to hide it.
Microsoft has indicated: “Both in the main window and in the one we open with the key combination, we can upload files and images to enrich our conversations with ChatGPT. This release also allows us to create images with DALL•E and even provides access to the preliminary version o1, the OpenAI model that is capable of reasoning.”
This release is appreciated by users of Windows, the most used desktop operating system in the world, from the firm Microsoft, which has invested more than $10 billion dollars in OpenAI.
