Bitcoin campaign launched to rebuild Notre Dame

The crypto community shows its solidarity and is encouraging bitcoiners and shitcoiners to join the cause and support the initiative

After the tragic fire that hit the famous Notre Dame Cathedral in Paris, French journalist Grégory Raymond launched a bitcoin fund to help rebuild one of France’s most recognized landmarks.

For his part, French President Emmanuel Macron, before the media, promised to rebuild the cathedral, which lost its needle and its ceiling with the fire.

Meanwhile, Raymond launched on Twitter the #BitcoinForNotreDame tag and tweeted: “President Emmanuel Macron has announced a subscription to rebuild #NotreDame. Hey bitcoiners, let’s prove to the French authorities that #Bitcoin can be a surprising way to send funds quickly, without borders and for a good cause. #BitcoinForNotreDame.”

It is worth noting that the fire occurred in the same week in which some figures of the French government have been talking during Blockchain week in Paris. The activity aims to promote Paris as a center of leadership both in the region and worldwide.

Until now the crypto community seems to show solidarity with the collection of funds in bitcoin and comments in the tweet calling for others to join the cause.
