The German airline extended this decision due to the outbreak of the coronavirus that has not stopped spreading and it is feared that it will get aout from the Asian region

The German airline Lufthansa extended its cancellation of flights to China due to the coronavirus epidemic, the company said in Frankfurt today.

The company explained that until the end of the winter flight schedule on March 28, the Chinese cities of Beijing and Shanghai will not be served by the Lufthansa Group or its Swiss and Austrian subsidiaries.

Initially, these flights had only been canceled until February 29. Lufthansa had already announced a break until the end of March for other destinations in mainland China, such as Nanjing, Shenyang and Qingdao.

Flights to Hong Kong, which had previously been fully serviced with 19 weekly connections, will be canceled due to demand stagnation.

The Lufthansa Group announced that in March Swiss will use smaller jets on its flights to Hong Kong.
