Zimbabwe will consider the use of blockchain technology

The RBZ began to study everything related to this innovation to implement within the banking system

The Reserve Bank of Zimbabwe (RBZ) started this week the study of blockchain technology in order to adopt it and integrate it into the banking processes of the nation.

This was reported by the local media News Day, who took the statements of the manager of the RBZ, John Mangudya where he said that the entity wants to adopt new technologies.

“I did not say cryptocurrencies because it is lower than blockchain, blockchain covers all cryptocurrencies like bitcoin, and we are saying that we are launching studies, ways and means of investigating that blockchain technology“, said Mangudya.

The work of blockchain technology is dedicated to the idea of not falling behind in the development of new technologies.

“What we are against, as I have always said, is to do things that are not regulated because we need to know where these bitcoins are mined and we want to hunt them,” said the governor of the RBZ.
