YouTube removes videos from free version of YouTube Music

The platform announced this change, which is scheduled for November of this year

YouTube announced a change in the service it offers in the free version of YouTube Music, which from November will stop showing music videos to only play audio.

Viewing the videos of this platform will only be possible in the YouTube Music Premium paid subscription, a change that will begin for Canadian users on November 3, as indicated by the company in the community forum.

The change means that the free version of YouTube Music, which intersperses ads, will only play the music, without its users being able to see the videos. They will also have as a novelty the playback in the background.

From YouTube they also indicate that functions such as the selection of music on demand and the possibility of unlimited song skipping will become exclusive to the Premium mode.

The changes will arrive first in Canada, but the company has plans to expand them globally.
