YouTube App will allow you to broadcast live screen content

The video streaming application will introduce a new feature which will help show the real-time content of a mobile device

YouTube has introduced in its Android application the function that allows live streaming of the mobile screen content, which arrives with the latest update and after the closure of YouTube Gaming at the end of May.

YouTube Gaming was a service dedicated to videogames with which Google sought to compete with platforms such as Twitch, since it was focused on the visualization and realization of live broadcasts of video games.

This service was active from 2015 until the end of May, when the company decided to integrate it into the general YouTube platform and remove the Google Play application. Precisely, the latter allowed a retransmission of live mobile screen content, a function that has just arrived at the YouTube app.

The new function is available on the capture button, where the option ‘Broadcast live’ can be selected and then the content of the screen by pressing the phone icon. Thus, the user can “broadcast live games played on the mobile,” as explained on the Google Help Center page.

The live broadcast of the mobile screen is available in version 14.31.50 of the YouTube Android application.
