Women in Bike is the largest online community of women cyclists in Spain
The initiative seeks to build the largest ecosystem of females practicing this sport in the European country through a coordinated program on Internet
Cycling is one of the most practiced sports in the world. It is also a leisure activity that in Europe involves all the family. Women in Bike was born in Spain, a project sponsored by Movistar that seeks to bring together the largest online community of women cyclists in the country.
The Superior Sports Council is involved in the project “Universe Woman” in the initiative. That is how Women in Bike was born, coordinated online through a web that will guide and organize the different actions of the initiative with established routes in the network.
It is a positive application of technologies to group Spanish women who wish to practice cycling, stay healthy and share. It offers three levels: initiation, medium and high, in addition to the routes, guided tours and aspects of the legislation that every cyclist must know.
The Royal Spanish Cycling Federation also has an important role in this project. Through the site the interested ones can join the group and know the routes and other creative ideas regarding the sport, health and wellbeing recommendations.
Undoubtedly, the Women in Bike platform is an opportunity to promote sports through the Internet, following the rules to achieve a healthy performance, as indicated by María José Rienda, president of the Sports Council.
