Venezuela’s National Electoral Council (CNE) will open 15,736 voting centers for regional elections

The Venezuelan National Electoral Council (CNE) announced this Sunday that it will open 15,736 voting centers across the country for the regional and legislative elections on May 25

Venezuela will hold regional and legislative elections on Sunday, May 25. The National Electoral Council (CNE) will open 15,736 centers for this process, with 27,713 voting tables for a voter registry of 21,485,000 citizens.

According to CNE Vice President Carlos Quintero, details for these elections are being finalized. He stated that “there will be a total of 1,236 collection centers that will safeguard voting machines in case one fails at a polling station.”

Quintero emphasized that the equipment inspection is essential, as it allows political organizations to ensure the proper functioning of the voting machines and software.

“They will also verify the voting, counting, and data transmission processes, as well as citizen verification, which validates that the voting receipt matches the tally sheets,” he noted.
