Crash detection is coming to Android

Google's accident detection system will reach all devices with Android operating system

Google’s traffic accident detection system, which is currently integrated into Pixel phones, will no longer be exclusive to these smartphones and will come to other Android mobile devices soon.

The company launched the feature for its Pixel phones in October 2019, when it officially arrived on these devices in the United States. This feature is found in its Personal Safety app and detects when a user has been in a car accident thanks to its motion sensors and microphone. In this way, it can automatically notify the emergency services, if necessary.

As recently indicated by 9to5Google in a compilation of APK Insight files, Google would be working on integrating this security service and other features hitherto exclusive to Pixel phones into other Android phones.

This portal confirmed this information based on the latest version of Personal Security, specifically, version 2022.05.25, currently available in the Google application store, Play Store.
