Joe Biden diagnosed with aggressive prostate cancer
Former US President Joe Biden was diagnosed with an aggressive type of prostate cancer. According to sources close to the case, he is responding well to treatment
Former US President Joe Biden recently underwent a medical checkup that resulted in a diagnosis of an aggressive type of prostate cancer with bone metastasis.
Biden, 82, underwent tests that detected a prostate nodule. On Friday, May 16, “doctors confirmed a cancer with a Gleason score of 9 (Group 5), indicating high aggressiveness.”
However, they noted that the tumor responds to hormonal treatments, “which opens up effective therapeutic options. Biden and his family are evaluating strategies with specialists to address the disease.”
As you may recall, the former US president overcame a cancerous lesion in his chest in 2023 after undergoing successful surgery. Last year, Biden’s doctor declared him fit to continue his duties as president. Having received his prostate cancer diagnosis last Sunday, he “is now facing complex treatment, but with optimism.”
