Venezuela nominates Margarita Island and Angel Falls for the 2026 World Travel Awards
The Venezuelan Ministry of Popular Power for Tourism announced the nomination of Margarita Island and Angel Falls for the 2026 World Travel Awards, a competition that recognizes destinations and services in the hotel, airline, and hospitality sectors worldwide
Two Venezuelan destinations have been nominated by the Ministry of Popular Power for Tourism for the 2026 World Travel Awards. Margarita Island and Angel Falls, two places that receive thousands of visitors annually, now have the opportunity to receive international recognition.
“In this edition, Margarita Island and Angel Falls are among the nominees for the World Travel Awards, which recognizes achievements in the travel, hotel, airline, and hospitality sectors internationally.” Those interested in voting can register on the World Travel Awards website and cast their vote.
Margarita Island is competing in the South America’s Leading Beach Destination category. “The nomination is based on the island’s coastal infrastructure, culinary offerings, and rich historical and cultural heritage.”
Angel Falls, or Kerepakupai Vena, is competing in the South America’s Leading Tourist Attraction category. It is recognized as “a natural destination with great biodiversity and unique landscapes, considered one of the world’s most important geological wonders.”
The ceremonial gala will be held on September 27 in the Maldives, a date that coincides with World Tourism Day, according to Graham Cooke, founder of the World Travel Awards.
