Keiko Fujimori and Rafael López Aliaga head to runoff election in Peru

The general elections in Peru, held on Sunday, April 12, resulted in a narrow margin between the three leading candidates: Keiko Fujimori, Rafael López Aliaga, and Jorge Nieto. A runoff election will be held on June 7

During the general elections held on Sunday, April 12, in Peru, the top three candidates were Keiko Fujimori with 16% of the vote, Rafael López Aliaga with 12%, and Jorge Nieto with 11%.

This means they will advance to a runoff election, scheduled for June 7, to determine who will lead the country during a crucial period not only for Peruvians but for Latin America as a whole.
