Venezuela loses US$ 875 millions for national blackout

The director of Ecoanalítica also said that every day that passes without resolving the situation the country losses another 150 or 200 million dollars

The director of Ecoanalítica, Asdrúbal Oliveros, affirmed that in four days of electric collapse Venezuela has lost at least 875 million dollars.

“We are talking in these four days of the great national blackout of a quantified loss of 875 million dollars, equivalent to almost one point of the Gross Domestic Product (GDP)“, said the economist.

On the other hand, he stressed that for every day that passes, more losses are estimated between 150 and 200 million dollars.

In the opinion of the director of Ecoanalítica, it is due to “the affectation of the oil industry, the manufacturing industry, services, the paralyzation of commerce and other activities of the country”.

Oliveros said that a solution to this situation is urgent, because if it is not resolved soon, the contraction figure of the Venezuelan economy will be much higher than previously estimated due to this collapse”.
