Venezuela appoints new charge d’affaires to the EU

The Venezuelan government appointed Yván Gil, who until now served as Vice Minister for Europe

Venezuela announced the appointment of the engineer and politician Yván Gil as the new charge d’affaires with the European Union (EU).

This information was provided by Foreign Minister Félix Plasencia, who also added that the position of vice minister for Europe, in which Gil was, will now be taken over by Daniela Rodríguez.

“Following instructions from President Nicolás Maduro, Yván Gil will be our charge d’affaires with the European Union”, Plasencia highlighted on his Twitter account.

The Venezuelan Foreign Minister did not give details about the reason for these changes that occur after the appointment, last September, of the new EU charge d’affaires in Venezuela, the Spanish Rafael Dochao Moreno.
